The 2020 Law Via the Internet Conference is pleased to announce that former Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, the Hon. Dr. Willy Mutunga will be our keynote speaker on Day 2 – September 23 – of this year’s conference!
Willy Mutunga is the former Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya. A reform activist, Mutunga recently served as the commonwealth secretary-general’s special envoy to the Maldives. He joined the law faculty at the University of Nairobi as a lecturer and later received his LLD from the Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in Toronto. Mutunga helped launch the Kenya Human Rights Commission, and later served as its executive director. Currently, he serves as a distinguished scholar-in-residence at the Leitner Center for International Law and Justice at Fordham Law School.
Mutunga received an LLB from the University of Nairobi and an LLM from the University of Dar es Salaam.
